VisiSize N60 Particle Size Analyser
Ultrafast and powerful sizing system, our VisiSize N60 is a high-performance droplet and particle size, shape and velocity measurement tool built as a Class 1 laser-safe system for spray characterisation
Built to handle more difficult spray analyses – sprays that are ultra-fast moving, high volume, or high density – the VisiSize N60 is a high-performance droplet and particle size analyser and velocity measurement tool built as a Class 1 laser-safe system. It captures clear images of small particles travelling at speeds up to Mach 3. Few things move too quickly for the VisiSize N60 droplet size measurement system.
Designed with advanced imaging capabilities of continuous events, the N60 is capable of analysing a high data rate to allow the user to see exactly what is happening in the spraying process in real time.
The VisiSize N60 combines both the quantitative and qualitative data elements which result in an image-based droplet diameter and particle size measurement process which is far more powerful than any other particle size measurement technique. This makes the VisiSize N60 one of the most capable droplet and particle size analysers available for high-velocity spray applications.

FAQs - VisiSize Droplet and Particle Analysers for Spray Characterisation
How does Oxford Lasers’ method of direct imaging compare to laser diffraction?
Laser diffraction infers a size distribution from scattered-light patterns, assuming particles are spherical. Direct-imaging systems like the VisiSize N60 photograph each particle individually, measuring true size and shape with no spherical assumption — and adding velocity, which diffraction cannot provide.
What are the alternatives to a laser diffraction particle size analyser?
For sprays and droplets, direct-imaging analysers are the leading alternative. They’re especially suited to fast-moving or non-spherical particles, where you need to verify measurements visually rather than trust an averaged distribution.
Can the VisiSize N60 measure high-velocity sprays?
Yes — it’s designed for exactly this, capturing clear images of small particles travelling at speeds up to Mach 3, as a Class 1 laser-safe system.
What data does it provide?
Size, shape, velocity and direction per particle, plus full statistics: mean diameter (by number, area or volume), Sauter mean diameter, volume percentiles (D10, D50, D90), deviation and relative span.
